Nave icons
The nave of St Paul’s contains twenty-one panel icons, divided into five sections: Women and children saints, male saints, Old Testament Scenes, New Testament Scenes, and a triptych of Marian icons. The saints were chosen to reflect a varied demographic, mothers, ascetics, wealthy, poor, clergy and laypeople, old and young. The icons of the saints thread together a pattern of discipleship and guidance, all the “minor” figures in the icons are either disciples or guides and teachers to the primary saint of the icon. Together the saints reveal a community that holds the parish accountable to love all, help all, give to all, bear witness to Christ to all, and to bring all to Him.
